How to Communicate Your Love Without Words
For some, I love you, is one of the most commonly spoken words. For others, they are treated as Jewels, rarely said because of their weight and value.
If you struggle to communicate your feelings to your loved ones through the spoken word, it doesn’t mean you can’t communicate your love at all!
According to the bestselling book The 5 Love Languages, you’ll ensure that your communication is successful by communicating your love to someone using their love language.
The five love languages are words of affirmation, quality time, receiving gifts, acts of service, and physical touch.
Depending on what your loved one appreciates more, you can start showing your love by communicating in that language.
Quality time:
Set aside quiet time to spend with them, either talking or walking or doing any activity that includes just the two of you while ensuring that you provide your utter undisrupted focus during that time.
Acts of Service:
See the area they could use some help in and do it for them, maybe help them with an errand, drive them somewhere, etc.
Physical Touch:
If you are on terms where that’s something that doesn’t break their set boundaries, then holding their hand or hugging them will deliver how you feel to them.
Words of Affirmation:
You can focus on your loved ones’ other love languages if you struggle with verbal communication. However, building and developing your communication skills will give you the means to express your love and affection toward them and show your loved ones how much you genuinely love them by attempting to communicate in their language.
Words of affirmation are about reminding your loved ones of the values they bring to what they do, complimenting their actions, and their positive characteristics; this could be done through verbal or written communication – if you are more comfortable with it – like writing letters.
Gift Giving:
Picking out the right gift is something you need to master, but there’s one gift most people love to get that makes their day a lot brighter: Flowers.
Flowers are, in essence, a love language on their own, some flowers have actual meanings, White Lilies mean my love is pure, Daisies mean I love you truly, and Red Tulips mean I declare my love.
You don’t need an occasion to gift someone with flowers, but if there’s one, then picking out the right bouquet will help you communicate your love and affection toward your loved ones.
Words are a fantastic way to express your love, but sometimes “Flowers speak louder than words,” and we always recommend them when it comes to gift-giving!
Love is universal, and there are numerous ways you can express it in a way that will reach the hearts of your loved ones. Let us know in the comments which love language is yours and which you struggle the most with.
